I am not a fan of an opened kitchen, in fact I believe a kitchen should be hidden or at least hiddable (is that english?). So I looked and looked for good execution on a kitchen in the living room and came with the conclusion that I would avoid if possible. I can see it working in a New York Loft, in a country side house if you are ready for the mess and the smell in your living space.
